Dr. Kelly S. Hale

Dr. Kelly S. Hale is Principal Human Factors Engineer at Draper, where she utilizes her engineering and leadership expertise to develop innovative solutions designed to enhance user experience (UX) in personalized, adaptive systems and information visualization across desktop, mobile and extended reality platforms. Her work encompasses multimodality considerations, including haptics interactions and speech integration to optimize UX and create hands free, heads up capabilities suitable to operational environments. Dr. Hale is a recognized international leader in adaptive solutions, especially as they relate to training. During her 20+ years of carrying out research to identify field gaps and develop innovative training solutions to optimize operations, she had led numerous efforts involved in furthering personalized, adaptive training approaches for enhancing learning and training transfer. In recognition of her R&D efforts, Kelly has been awarded the Department of Homeland Security Small Business Achievement Award, the Admiral Leland S. Kollmorgen Spirit of Innovation Award, and was selected as a Top 40 under 40 Award Recipient from the Orlando Business Journal. Kelly earned her B.Sc. in Kinesiology/Ergonomics Option from the University of Waterloo, and her Masters and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
