Gordon Grant graduated from Princeton University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in economics, magna cum laude, and a concentration on financial mathematics, econometrics and game theory.   As director derivatives and portfolio manager at New World Investment Management, a New York-based hedge fund, he oversaw a significant portion of the firm’s $5billion in assets and developed innovative strategies for trading and investments in G10 and emerging market foreign exchange, fixed income, and commodities, including precious metals, energy and agriculture.

Since 2013, he has been substantially involved in the digital asset space as a cryptocurrency investor, entrepreneur, and thought leader.  From 2021-2023 he built the regulated derivatives trading business of Genesis Global Capital International into the world’s top principal sell-side market maker and proprietary trading desk serving the industry’s largest hedge funds, investment firms, protocol founders, and ‘whales’.

With over one million units of Bitcoin in cryptocurrency options contracts under his belt - an individual high water mark - he now oversees a number of institutional client portfolios, with a primary focus on bitcoin and ether.  His commentary and analysis on digital asset markets have been regularly featured in Bloomberg, Reuters, the Wall Street Journal, and crypto-native publications such as The Block.    He continues to undertake innovative quantitative and applied econometric research  in conjunction with top tier academic institutions and is widely considered to be the among crypto industry’s leading subject matter experts on digital asset options, as well as, at times, the most interesting man in crypto.

A tenth generation resident of the Philadelphia area,  he has also lived in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.  He speaks English, French, Farsi, and Arabic.
