Dr. Zaki Hussein is the CEO and founder of Touchlab Limited. Whilst doing his PhD in Integrative Sensing and Measurement at the University of Edinburgh, Zaki discovered how the missing sense of touch has severely limited the uptake of robotics. Determined to solve this problem, Zaki founded Touchlab with the mission to give machines the power of human touch. The company has since gone from strength to strength, raising investment from one of Europe’s biggest deep-tech VC’s and even reaching the finals of the $10m ANA Avatar XPRIZE as one of just 20 teams globally.
