Back in 2017, he earned his PhD specializing in water resources and climate risk assessment. He later made his way to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked at ClimateAI (at the intersection of agriculture, AI, and climate) and KatRisk (focusing on flood and hurricane risk, working with insurance and financial institutions). Since mid-2022, Ali has been working at Google-X, making strides in the research and development efforts to tackle large-scale geospatial ML challenges.
