Ben is an economist, strategist, and innovator, working at the frontier of climate and energy.  He is a Director at Monitor Deloitte, as the Sustainability lead in Economic Advisory, and formerly as co-founder of the award-winning Sustainability & Climate Strategy practice. Ben is also a Visiting Senior Fellow of the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and a Member of the XPRIZE Climate & Energy Brain Trust.

Prior to joining Deloitte in 2021, Ben was a Net Zero Advisor to Microsoft and a Knowledge Advisor to the World Economic Forum, as co-founder of the award-winning Innovation & Sustainability centre of excellence at PwC.

Ben has deep expertise in climate change: he was a founding team member of the UK’s Climate Change Committee in 2008, a Co-Principal to the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate in 2014, and in 2018 joined the Advisory Board to the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change. In 2020 he was a launch Director of the Transform to Net Zero global cross-sector initiative, a core representative for WBCSD’s global Vision 2050 agenda, launched in 2021, and joined the European Green Digital Coalition’s Advisory Board in 2022.

Ben is a dual UK-US citizen and holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
